FREE RIDE TO HELL

a smoky saloon
in a dusty ghost town
she strides in at noon
in a red satin gown
with plump, luscious lips

that match the black bow in her hair
and a lingering scent of French perfume

as she climbs the stair

next thing I know
we’re up in her room
the oil lamp’s glow
anoints me for doom
as she’s strapping me down

to her velvety four-poster bed
and demons start screaming in my head

you caught your free ride to Hell
caught your free ride to Hell

each lash makes me moan
blood drips to the floor
she cuts to the bone
I’m begging for more
though I crave every moment

the pain makes me pass out instead
with those demons all screaming in my head

you caught your free ride to Hell
caught your free ride to Hell

in His mercy God grants me a pardon
my soul cleansed as sweet-smelling rain
makes the desert an Eden-like garden
and I’m freed from my suffering and pain

now I walk down this road through the valley
of the shadow of death and it seems
that my life has a blissful finale
till I wake from this beautiful dream
